With slimmer waists and wider hips being the most wanted feaures, it only makes sense to bring waist belts back into the light. If you don't have that hourglass shape, I recommend investing in a high quality leather (or faux leather for my vegans and animal lovers) belt like #1. Start off with that belt first (since it's the most versatile.....the least decorative.........basic.) and wear it with flowy dresses, skirts and high waisted pants. If you like it, then opt for a more detailed, embellished belt. Or if you want to stick with the minimal feel, switch to a leatherette sash. If you want to add a little edge, I would recommend #6 and #3 for a more luxe feel.
If you ask me, this is how everyone should cinch their waist. Stylishly.

Lately, I've been really into white tops. More than anything, I'm addicted to boxy/shapeless tops but the 'wrap n tie' blouses are my weakness! I think some people tend to under estimate a crisp white top. When you have nothing to wear or you're not feeling the colorful tops in your closet, I guarantee you a white blouse will complete your #ootd. I'd go for a wrap n' tie blouse with a pair of denim flares some barely there heels for a sophisticated causal look. The outerwear and accessories are totally up to you, of course, but I would add a leather jacket and a cute backpack with my fave Lennon inspired frames for that minimal Femme Fatale vibe.
If you're not feeling the wrap n' tie top, then the ever trending bardot blouse will definitely be your favorite. I've already published a post about this style. Freakin' love it. If all else fails, then a high quality white tee will suffice. ;)

Instead of heading to the usual location, me and my sister and her friends really wanted to go to Centennial Park just to get out of spending their Spring Break at home. Well, I had already planned on doing a shoot so I was cool with that. I had my pictures taken, enjoyed a large order of garlic fries from Googie Burger, chatted and posed with friendly strangers and even took a selfie with Mr. Officer Dude. I'm sure you can tell I enjoyed myself that day. When I go back, I will be riding that ferris wheel. It's required.
I highly recommend you guys find a basic shirtdress made of soft, airy linen or cotton because it's so comfy to wear no matter what you're doing and oh em gee, the many ways you can style it. You can definitely wear this piece to work, brunch, or on date night. You could add a moto jacket, like I did, or just an oversized boyfriend cardigan. Hell, wear it like a skirt and put a cute blouse on top of it. The possibilities are endless with a shirtdress like the one I'm wearing.
How do you feel about shirtdresses? I'm sold. I might order one in an actual color next time. I'm so addicted to the achromatic palette for Spring for some odd reason. I think the minimalist in me is trying to take over. ( ._.)
