Let's face it...we're all doing the count down to the 1st day of the Autumnal Equinox, but the weather tends to fall behind (no pun intended) leaving some of us confused as to how to properly dress for the season or maybe you're not ready to push your summer staples to the back of your closet. Today's post will give you some ideas on how to hold on to your most worn and love pieces just a little bit longer.
As I mentioned in this post, I live in the south, so in order to avoid sweating like crazy, adding one layer is my only option until the temperature begins to drop. I wanted to go for a 70s look, so I added my denim vest and velvet platform boots to give this feminine romper a more relaxed, boho vibe. This romper would look just as amazing as a top with a pair of medium washed flares. Have you ever worn a romper as a top? No? Try it!
Co-ord Set | Sweater (thrifted) | Heels
For fun night outs with my woes, I thought it would be super cute to pair these striped shorts with a light knit sweater and a pair of lace up heels. You could also opt for thigh high boots instead if you're feeling extra sexy. As for the top, a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans and flat ankle boots for a more tomboyish look.
Co-ord Set | Skinnies (thrifted) | Booties | Denim Jacket (thrifted)
I'm so obsessed with this structured crop top and high waisted skinnies combination. Although summer has come to an end, every business keeps the AC on 'blast', so I'm always prepared with this denim jacket I thrifted a while back. For a contrast of color and a bit more edge, replace the denim jacket with a military jacket.
Thanks for reading! Comment below on how you would style these pieces!

People say that shoes are what takes a plain jane outfit to the next level, but what about handbags? I mean, I'm just sayin'. Would you walk out of the house in a very neon and colorful, floral maxi and reach for that red tote bag as a finishing touch? Haha, right.
All aboooard! The Hot Mess Express!
Well, if you didn't know already, structured handbags is all the rage for Fall and Winter! Am I on board with this trend? Uh...Ch-yeah. Think about it: You're wearing a boring off-white sweater, with a pair of denim skinnies and some ankle boots.......blah. But if you add this bag into the mix, oh man. You will immediately look like one of those unknown trendy, women that street style photographers flood the streets to snap pics of. And who doesn't want to be that mysterious, well dressed woman that's always on her phone walking super fast down the street because she's on a mission??? Riiiiiiight.

For those of you who live up north in the states, I envy you. As soon as Fall begins, you almost immediately feel the change. Here in Tennessee? Haha....NO. We normally hold on to our shorts just a wee bit longer. We southerners probably won't start feeling the real effects of Fall until late October. As lame as that is, there's still hope. My "transitioning" plan is to add knitted cardigans over graphic tees and shorts with a pair of ankle booties and a wide brim fedora.
What are your ideas for transitioning your wardrobe?

My shopping carts will be filled with anything Khaki, Navy, Camel and B&W. After doing what turned out to be hours of reblogging and repinning. (Pinterest and Tumblr....nuff said), it looks like these 4 colors will be the most worn colors this Fall. What trendy color(s) will you wear on repeat this upcoming season?

Hey guys! I can't believe it's been almost a MONTH since I've published a post on the blog! There's been so much going on so it was wise to put AFH to the side until I could get everything taken care of, and I did! It's taking everything in me not to spoil all of the fun surprises I have for you loyal readers! If you're new to A Fabulous Hippie, welcome! You can subscribe via Bloglovin' or email for trend reports, fashion inspo, ootds and much more. ;)
With Summer coming to a close, it's time to prepare for the magic Fall brings with it every year. I'm just kidding, it's time to go shopping. Duh. ;)
Even though we all know that the warm hues from the 70s is trending for this upcoming season, I'm still addicted to black and white. I don't think you guys understand....B&W will always be bae. On the other hand, Navy and Khaki might steal my heart this upcoming season. ;)
A few months back, I was part of a discussion on Twitter (@afabuloushippie) with a few bloggers and other fashion aficionados about trends for AW15...SPOILER ALERT: Hologram handbags WILL be trending! Better load up now!
Thanks for reading! I appreciate everyone's patience.

Polka Dot Tank- Old (Similar) | Skirt- Thrifted via Vinted (Similar) | Backpack- Old | Loafers- Old | Sunglasses- Target (Similar) | Necklace- Yep, you guessed it.....THRIFTED (Love)
If you follow me on IG (@afabuloushippie), you've already had a peek at this double dotted ensemble. There's nothing I love more than playing with patterns and colors (how ironic...) when it comes to planning my next outfit of the day. I mean, it IS Summertime, which means fun times and fun outfits! And booze. Am I right??? Of course I'm right. (I bet you're sipping Sangria as your reading this ;)
As of lately, I've been SUPER drawn to polka dots, so I reached for this light, and incredibly airy tank top. I was so tempted to grab a pair of denim shorts like I always do, but that's kinda lame. I just so happen to find this skirt in the back of my closet! Then I realized this skirt has not only never been worn, but it's been in my closet since last summer. Holy sh*t. On the bright side, this skirt it took this outfit to a whole new level of awesomeness!
I'm always going on adventures and this backpack has really come through for me. From carrying water bottles (and Tequila....shhhh!) and snacks to necessities and my notebook, this backpack is much better than a ginormous tote bag that may weigh your shoulder down. Yes, you could switch it to the other arm, but I guarantee you at the end of the day, you'll wish you'd switch to a.....you know what, I'm gonna call it an Adventure Pack. I would totally recommend you go out and buy yourself a nice Adventure Pack this season. And sunscreen.
See ya soon! Thanks for reading!

Did you notice the random paint spot behind me? Of course you did. As you were staring at these neon yellow pumps, which are perfect for Summertime outings, your eyes glare to the left because you couldn't help but notice splattered white paint on the pavement. Where did that come from? I witnessed a painter walk across the street and he tripped with an open bucket of white paint. Genius. (Enter laughing emoji here)
Anyways, I wore this number on Friday for a fun night downtown, and boy let me just tell you.......I wish I brought flats. Not because of the pain in my feet, but because it was hella crowded and it would have been much easier to maneuver through big crowds with flats on. Can you imagine your foot being stepped on by a woman wearing 5-inch pumps??? Not pretty. However, I am SO glad I switched my backpack for this Tory Burch crossbody. It's so much easier to carry a mini purse versus a large, leather backpack. All I had to do is toss my essentials (license, money, cell phone, keys, candy, etc.) inside and I'm done. Honestly, this purse is perfect Summer PERIOD. It is waaaaay too hot to carry around a ginormous handbag now! Remember ladies: Less is More!
